 INTRODUCTION
--------------

MCG1305 Is the Acceptance Test Specification for MS4 signs. At the present time this specification is in Issue A draft format. These scripts have been issued to allow contractors to check their sign operation against this document. Should any changes be made to this document then if required, script updates will be made.

These scripts are designed for the NMCS2 interface and NOT the NRTS LAN.

Each script is designed to provide a visual indication to the user of the test status, via the Event Viewer, which also shows whether the test has passed or failed.

 IMPORTANT NOTICES

IMPORTANT: Although Tester supports Windows 95/98/Me, we do NOT recommend running acceptance tests under these operating systems due to their timing limitations which can have an effect on the results of certain acceptance tests.  

To view the progress of an executing acceptance test in script mode please use the Event Viewer by pressing the "F10" key or selecting "View | Event Viewer".

 INSTALLATION
--------------

IMPORTANT: Tester 3.12 or higher, must be installed on the target system before proceeding.

To install the package, insert the CD into the drive and the setup program should launch automatically.  If Auto-Run has been disabled, run the Setup.EXE from your CD-ROM drive (e.g. D:\Setup.EXE). 

The scripts will be installed to the Data\Script\ISSUE_S1551_MCG1305 subdirectory of the WinTester installation directory (typically C:\Program Files\Simulation Systems Ltd\WinTester)

 RUNNING THE SCRIPTS

LOADING THE SCRIPT
------------------
Once installed, select File | Open Script... to display the Open Script Dialog. Change the directory to ISSUE_S1551_MCG1305 and the File filter (files of type) to "Acceptance Test Files (*.act)". You will then be presented with all acceptance test files defined in MCG1305. Select the required file.

RUNNING THE SCRIPT

Once a valid script file is selected, enter Script Mode (press F6 or the Script button). Press the 'A' key or the button marked 'A' (AUTO RUN SCRIPT)

LOG FILES
---------
For each script a series of three log files are created in the WinTester LOG directory:

1) <script name>.txt - high level log file recording test interaction and indicates at the end whether the test has passed or failed.
2) SCR_yyyy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss(n).LOG - automatically generated WinTester script log file containing a message decoding of all NMCS2 messages. 
3) 5BYTE_yyyy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss(n).LOG - raw 5 byte NMCS2 messages.
